Thought this was funny!...no such thing as healthy fast food
So, I recently returned from a road trip to Texas from Chicago (my home town). In attempt to save money, we made several stops to the drive-thru's, which I can admit, was not entirely the worst feeling at the time. However, I paid for it through my actions followed by my consumption of the fast food with my sluggish activity, need for more food after an unreasonable amount of time, and probably an intake of more calories one should consume on average. At some point, I think we have all learned the impact of processed foods on our body...packed with an excessive amount of calories which highly contributes to the obesity epidemic in our country, major cause leading to some of the most common diseases, such as heart disease, and is also loaded with oxidized fat, unhealthy fats which inhibit us from losing weight-- our bodies require foods filled with fiber and healthier fats to function regularly. The fast food route is essentially the route to an unhealthy, and improperly nourished body- which in turn effects your physical, emotional, and mental well being.
The decision to modify your diet can be difficult, but will eventually be rewarding. This decision reminds me of one that can have similar positive impacts on one's spiritual well being. The decision to please God and not our own desires, which means refraining from sin; for sin is good to taste, but digests as if it were gravel. We were all born with a sinful nature, so it's certainly not a piece of cake to resist temptation (For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God - Romans 3:23). This is why God is not expecting us to do it on our own, He wants us to seek Him for help, He wants us to communicate with Him (prayer), and God wants to give us a life of abundance --impossible if we choose to take our own route.
God says in Matthew 11:30 - For my yoke is easy and my burdens are light. This means, if we take on God's way of doing things and give Him our burdens, He will alleviate a lot of the trials and tribulations of life. Still, if we continue to sin and do things our way- we will never see the many blessings God has in store for us. However, as it is written:"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him" 1 Corinthians 2:9. The sinful route is essentially the route to an unhappy, unstable, and purposeless life- which in turn effects your physical, emotional, and mental well being.
It's time to give up the past, take out the trash- and never look back (nutritionally and spiritually)

Mylka!! This is too great! It's so true that when we're on road trips we eat the worst things!! Why is that?? Hmmmm...seriously sister, please keep this up. You really have a gift for writing and I love that you're bridging the gap of Spiritual/Physical nutrition--wholistic care of ourselves. Very encouraging! Thanks girl--cant wait for the next one!
